Oxy-morons

Great Movie
i found this movie on accident and watched it out of bordem turned out to be a great flick.Dont judge the movie by its cover deffinatly worth watching.

Oxymorons DVD
I ordered this movie from Amazon, glad to find it and the price was the best I could find. It came in 2 days! Great movie about oxycontin pill addiction and what that leads to. It's like an updated version of " Drugstore Cowboy", same idea. I really liked it a lot, awesome movie! I was waiting for it to come out on dvd for a long time and now finally have it. Thank you Amazon.

Gritty, grimy reality @ it's darkest
This movie is a must see, especially for those that have had a taste or know someone who's lived this lifestyle or along these lines. If I had the $$$ I'd order dozens of these to send to some of the peoples I came up with in my hometown, the monsters I shared nightmares with. I'm thankful the Lord's redeemed me and that I see passed those darker years of my life. I watched this for the first time last week and intend to watch again this coming week, remarkable movie. Based off a true story!?!! Speechless...Enjoy!
The actors, writer, and director did a magnificent job in portraying the reality of life's ills.

The Yellow Cab Man

Skelton Does it Again
Red Skelton gives a rib tickling performance in "The Yellow Cab Man". Skelton plays an accident prone inventor with hilarious results. He has invented a safety glass that will revolutionalize the car industry. He takes the job as a cab driver to prove how safe his Elastiglass really is. Unbeknownst to Skelton, there are other people who want to steal the formula for this fantastic invention for themselves, which results in many funny scenes; such as a truth serum sequence that sends Red back to his childhood and culminating in a rip roaring chase scene inside a Home Show exposition, which centers around a revolting house. So grab the kiddies, popcorn, cola and gather around the t.v. for approx. a hour and a half of side splitting fun!

Edited for Television
Very disappointed in this tape. This tape contains a copy of the movie that was apparently edited for television. I say that becuase I noticed that there were several scenes cut from the movie. The movie on this tape doesn't flow correctly and there are references in the movie to scenes that the viewer never sees.

I wouldn't recommend the purchase of this tape.

Red drives the Yellow Cab...one of his best!
After the success of "A Southern Yankee", it was just a no-brainer to set up another collaboration between star Red Skelton and comedy legend Buster Keaton (the latter working as a gagman at MGM). They bore some delicious fruit with "The Yellow Cab Man" (1950). Here, Red plays a goof who invents some wacky but effective "safety" devices, the latest of which is "Elastiglass", an unbreakable glass material. To help promote his inventions, he agrees to drive a Yellow Cab for awhile, resulting in a new career that's far from perfect. This was yet another comedy that's practically Red from start to finish. From the opening credits of a bandaged Red in the hospital (the cast is cleverly displayed ON a cast..get it?) to a wild climax on a model home on a turntable spinning out of control, it's one inspired comic moment after another. In between are some memorable bits: Red's first day driving the cab, which disasterously & hilariously piles one laugh on top of another; and a flashback in...

The Story of The Church of Beethoven

Classical Music is Alive and Well
This film is a very well presented documentary about the Church of Beethoven and its founder Felix Wurman. I recommend it too all those who love classical music and want to hear it as it lives in America.

Hanumanasana Flow

Awesome Class
This is a great class that opens up your quads and hamstrings so you can get into your deepest splits. I'm a runner and this class worked wonders for my hips.

Just an amazing class!
I love this class, and have started doing it every week. I have quite tight hamstrings and quads, and more than any other class, this one opens them up. Though I am still several inches from achieving hanumanasana, I don t stress about it at all because of Jackie s excellent instructing. I love Jackie s classes. They are the perfect balance between strength, flexibility, heat and relaxation.

I can do the splits!
Moving into this particular asana can be very intimidating for a student. And while I have been a practitioner of yoga for 7 years now- I haven't been in too many yoga classes that lead the student into this posture. Jackie's guidance into hanumanasana is so fluid that you reach the apex pose with such grace and mindfulness that you can't even believe it when you're there! This class has been so much fun for me- challenging myself with compassion and ease. Highly recommended!

Talk to Me: a documentary film about children with Autism

Inside View of Autism
I was giving a workshop on autism for special education teachers, and knew I needed something visual and more personal than just me lecturing. This video was just right. The children provided excellent examples of the concepts I was discussing. I appreciated that their parents spoke about the experience of having a child with autism, and we got to see some the repetitive behavior, difficulty adjusting the changes in routine and lack of direct interaction that many children on the spectrum exhibit. It really brought the workshop alive, and we found ourselves referring to the children in the video during the rest of the session. It was an excellent brief, non-technical introduction that raised questions and encouraged compassion.

good detail into families with autism
Good look into some families with children with autism. Not all families are the same. But gives us a look into a few and how they cope.

Rango

Brilliant in every sense of the word
Director Gore Verbinski has put together quite the filmography over the years. His first feature film was the family comedy Mousehunt, which he followed up with the R-rated action comedy The Mexican. He also jumped on the successful remake bandwagon before the trend really took off with The Ring. It was the Pirates of the Caribbean films that teamed the director with the hottest actor in Hollywood today; Johnny Depp. Perhaps it's because those films made over a billion dollars at the box office or because they just had fun working together or a little bit of both that Depp was chosen to voice a talking chameleon in Verbinski's bizarre yet spectacular animated adventure known as Rango.

Rango isn't your average animated film. That fact will become abundantly clear during Rango's opening monologue amongst his "friends." The film is actually more adult than any of the trailers let on. Within the first ten minutes of the film, Rango has a rather lengthy conversation with some...

Great animation, but really more for film buffs and lovers of animation than for kids
Gore Verbinski's animated feature Rango, with voices by Johnny Depp, Ned Beatty and a host of other talented actors, is a hard film to review, mainly because its real target audience is not the one it's being marketed towards. Let me just flat out say it: this really isn't a kids' animated movie. Not because there's anything in it that is not suitable for kids - there isn't - but because 95 percent of what really makes it worth seeing is going to go right over most kids' heads.

On the surface, the plot is fairly straightforward, at least in the set-up. A terrarium-housed pet chameleon lizard (it's significant after the fact that you never know his real name) ends up stranded in the desert where he is directed to a small town that is on the verge of extinction because of a mysterious water shortage. In his efforts to blend in (he _is_ a chamelon after all), he adopts the name Rango and in quick order suddenly finds himself appointed sheriff and given the mission of finding...

Not for kids - and I'm fine with that
I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to see, but I figured with Verbinski and Depp involved it couldn't be too bad. Boy, did I underestimate them! This movie was hysterical from the opening moments (Mariachi owls, anyone?). I agree with all the reviewers who said it wasn't a kids' film - too dark, and the amount of references and in-jokes lifted it way out of the Saturday morning/Disney category into the realm of inspired parody, but without losing a certain sweetness. The animation and production were outstanding as well, and I'm hoping the boys team up with ILM again soon!
